Vanities

Custom bathroom vanities, built to fit your bathroom

We build vanities in our Spring Grove shop to fit your bathroom, its walls and its plumbing, then install them ourselves. Floating vanities hang on a rail fixed to the wall.

Floating, double, or with a tall cabinet

We build:

  • single and double vanities, sized to the wall instead of a stock width
  • floating vanities, with open floor underneath
  • vanities with a matching tall linen cabinet
  • double vanities with a makeup counter and an open knee space
  • drawers planned around what you keep at the sink

Choose painted or stained wood, or a wood-look finish. Boxes are plywood or melamine, 3/4" thick throughout, the backs included. Blum soft-close hinges close doors quietly, and Salice full-extension drawer slides let a drawer open all the way.

How a floating vanity is held up

A floating vanity has nothing under it, so the wall carries its weight. We hang ours on a rail fixed to the wall.

Vanities we have built

  • Barrington: a primary bath with a long white flat-panel double vanity and drawers with long bar pulls, in the same house as our Barrington kitchen.
  • Lakeview, Chicago: a floating wood-look vanity with a matching tall linen cabinet.
  • Glenview: a white gloss double vanity with vessel sinks, and a stained shaker vanity, leveled before the top went on.
  • Glencoe: a taupe vanity with gold hardware.
  • Deer Park: a white flat-panel vanity.
  • West Chicago: a blue-stained double vanity with a makeup counter, in the same house as a knotty pine kitchen.

Also a floating wood-look vanity with vessel sinks against black tile. And whole-house work: five vanities in one Lake Bluff house, and the vanities for every bathroom in a Western Springs house.

How it works

It starts with a visit. We measure, we listen, and we give you a straight number. If it works for you, we design it with you, and only then do we build. The design package covers the detailed measuring and the drawings, a 2D layout, 3D renderings or both, with one major revision, and ends with the final price. Installing a vanity takes less time than a kitchen, which runs 1 to 3 days.

What drives the price

  • the size, and whether it is one sink or two
  • how many drawers and doors, against open shelves
  • a matching tall cabinet or a makeup counter
  • the material and the finish
  • how much fitting the room needs, such as walls that are out of square

You get a first number at the visit. The final price comes with the drawings.

What people ask about vanities

Can you build a vanity in a custom size?

Yes. We build it to the wall, the plumbing and the sink you choose, so it does not have to be a stock width. Send the wall size, the sink model and where the drain and supply lines are, or we measure at the visit.

Will a floating vanity hold up?

Yes. Ours hang on a rail fixed to the wall, so the wall carries the weight.

Who does the countertop and the sink?

They are separate work: a countertop shop makes the top, and a plumber connects the sink. We build the vanity to fit both.

Can you build a matching linen cabinet?

Yes. In Lakeview we built a floating vanity with a matching tall linen cabinet.

Can you do every bathroom in the house?

Yes. In one Lake Bluff house we built five vanities, along with the kitchen and three closets.

Do I need a permit?

Usually not just to install a vanity. We pull one when the law requires it. If the plumbing moves, decide early who handles that work and its permit.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, a written 1-year workmanship warranty from the install date. Hardware carries its maker's own warranty.

Family owned. Insured and licensed where required. We build in our own shop and install the work ourselves.
